SHS Library Services Offered
Library Orientation
Grade 11 students enrolled in senior high school always undergo library orientation to let them how the library works, rules and regulations, and how we can help them in their activities and academic performance.
Library Instruction
Grade 12 students require to attend library instruction in the library to let them know how to access online databases and other online resources in order to help them in their research. This library instruction is also a review to them from their library orientation during grade 11,
Audio Visual Service
The organization and circulation/borrowing of AV materials and equipment for classroom and library use or for individual learning by the students and faculty used in their reporting, and other activities in school.
OTHER SERVICES OFFERED
In carrying out its information service function, the Learning Resource Center offers the following services to its users:
1. Circulation/Reserve - lending, returning and reservation of library materials such as books and periodicals.3. Current Awareness Service - a service provided by a library to keep users up-to-date with information and recent development in their specific field of interest and areas of discipline (such as Bibliography making, Bulletin board display, Periodical routing, Book display and other related activities).
2. Educational Media Center (EMC) Reservation - reservation on the use of the different EMC, discussion rooms, AV facilities and materials for teaching-learning activities and other academic activities.
3. Reference and Information Service - services to library users including reader education, meeting user’s requests for specific information and assistance, and the management of library materials and equipment.
4. Resource Sharing / Inter Library Loan – an activity that results from an agreement among a group of libraries to share collections, data, facilities etc. for the benefit of their users.
To avail of the Resource Sharing Policy of Bohol Libraries which is participated by eight (8) colleges and universities in Bohol, a student may secure an endorsement letter from the LRC Director’s Office. A Resource Sharing fee will be paid by the user to the school with the following rate:
Member Institution: P 50.00 (maximum of 5 members per group)
Non-Member Institution: P 100.00 (maximum of 5 members per group)
Professional: P 150.00 (per individual)
5. Online Services - Online services are the services we offer to our library users, which provide unlimited access to library resources and help them acquire the needed data through a search engine.
