About the Text: This resource was developed for the Emporia State University Creative Writing program, specifically studio related courses and projects through the Donald Reichardt Center for Publishing and Literary Arts. About the Author: Bethanie O'Dell is the Publishing and Media Outreach Coordinator at Emporia State University. She has a degree in English with a minor in Creative Writing. She also has a Master's in Library Science and a Master's of Science in Instructional Design and Technology. Bethanie has been actively creating multimedia content since 2008. Some of her earlier projects include creating films with Microsoft Movie Maker before upgrading to resources like Adobe Premier, Filmora Wondershare, and Camtasia. She has produced four podcasts, two podcasts are hosted at Emporia State University. Connecting with OER was archieved as a mini-series to Emporia State's How We Teach This podcast, produced by Kristy Dugan through The Teachers College. Visiting Writers Series at Emporia State is her current podcast, hosted by Dr. Kevin Rabas. Bethanie also creates video essays on a variety of topics under an online personality which also streams on Twitch. And, Bethanie has developed a variety of video tutorials for Emporia State's students ranging from tuturials on how to do research for the university's library to creating workshops for users interested in web design. Bethanie continues to create content for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, and YouTube in order to stay current on trends and best practices in today's most popular content platforms.
