"Empower ESL Summary Writing" is designed to enhance basic summary writing skills for English language learners, primarily targeting Ukrainian prospective university students to prepare them for academic studies. This guide covers essential writing components for crafting summaries and using AI to assist in the process. The website book offers learners a structured pathway to mastering fundamental summary writing techniques.

Through interactive exercises involving peer, instructor and AI feedback, learners engage in meaningful writing activities. They leverage ChatGPT's capabilities to refine their summaries and improve language fluency. This collaborative approach not only strengthens summary writing skills but also cultivates critical thinking and communication abilities.

1. Unit 2 selection. Only Unit 2 of the book, which focuses on summary writing, has been included for its relevance to this project.

2. Exclusion of Information: Information specific to American universities has been excluded to maintain a more global perspective. The OER is intended to address the needs of Ukrainian students.

3. Adaptation of Practice Tasks: Practice tasks have been adapted to incorporate the ethical use of Generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, ensuring students engage responsibly with these technologies.
