Lesson 2: The Biblical Apologetic
By the end of this Lesson you should be able to:
- Explain the biblical model of apologetics through the study of the Apostle Paul and other relevant scripture.
- Apply biblical knowledge to your own personal defense for your faith.
- Read ch. 5-7 of Morey
- Read one of the scripture passages (see directions for the discussion)
- View the lecture video; take notes for the discussion
- Discussion 1: After reading one of the biblical classes and viewing the lecture, post an original thread by Thursday evening and two replies to peers by Sunday.
After viewing the powerpoint presentation, select one passage of Scripture:
Antioch in Pisidia - Acts 13:13-43
Lystra - Acts 14:15-18
Athens - Acts 17:16-44
Respond to all of the prompts:
1) Identify Paul's audience.
2) Identify the tactics Paul uses in his argument - what stands out to you as effective in his approach?
3) Does Paul use reason or evidence in his argument (or both)? Explain.
Your original post of 200-400 words is due by Thursday and your two replies (100 words each) are due by Sunday. If you cite other works, please do so in APA format.
