Academic Year 2023-2024

The inaugural Quality Learning and Teaching Faculty Learning Community (FLC) was conducted on our campus during the 2023-2024 academic year. Ten instructors from nine different departments and four distinct colleges participated in this FLC. Additionally, we facilitated the “Introduction to Teaching Online Using QLT” course on our campus for the first time. All nine instructors from the FLC completed this three-week course (one instructor had previously completed it). We also conducted six workshops for the FLC. We are pleased to report a 100% completion rate for the FLC, with all ten instructors meeting all requirements and earning the QLT Certificate from CSUSM in May 2024. They presented their achievements at the Annual Faculty Center Teaching & Learning Expo on May 3, 2024.

Goal 2 and Outcomes

Goal 2 – Peer Reviews

Increase the number of informal, campus-level peer reviews leading to formal CSU certification.

Outcomes:

  • We discovered that a personalized, one-on-one approach is the most effective way to encourage and motivate instructors to complete the CSU CO Certification.
  • Once an instructor expresses interest in pursuing the certification, we provide dedicated, individualized support.
