Costel Ionita MATH 1050: College Algebra OER Project

I have used OpenStax and the students paid zero dollars for the textbook compared to 90 dollars.

Curricular changes: 

I did not have to make changes, just change the order of the chapters to improve understanding and better flow.

Teaching and learning impacts: 

The only clear change is that students ask questions now. My teaching has not been impacted

OER Adoption Process

Flexibility in designing the sequence of topics, cost to students, no longer term contracts.

Student feedback about using OER:  Appreciate the zero cost, the always available materials even after the course is finished.
