OER/Low Cost Adoption

OER/Low Cost Adoption Process

Please provide an explanation or what motivated you to use this textbook or OER/Low Cost. I primarily wanted a book that reflected my teaching preferences—since nothing was available, I wrote my own and decided to publish as an OER.

How did you find and select the open textbook for this course?  I wrote it myself.

Sharing Best Practices:  No suggestions except that, when you can’t find material you want, be open to doing it yourself or working with others to produce something that best reflects your teaching preferences.

Describe any challenges you experienced, and lessons learned. It was difficult to find what I was looking for in any format (e.g., OER, traditional publication). Difficult to find time to write my own book; it would be helpful if money were provided by the university to produce no-cost materials for students.
