Welcome to Senf

Senf is an educational initiative that offers high-quality TV shows and digital learning content to learners in Afghanistan. Developed between 2022 and 2026, it covers almost the full Afghan national curriculum from grade 7 to grade 12 in Dari and Pashto.

This repository is intended for organisations and institutions who want to offer or distribute the content themselves. Students can access all learning content on Senf.af or Danalearn.org. Both platforms contain exactly the same content. 

This repository contains all courses in Dari and Pashto. Each course file is comprehensive and contains FHD or 4K versions of the TV episodes, high-resolution and low-resolution versions of video segments, HTML-5 files and the source files used to create them. It contains question banks in a consistent csv format, as well as the source files used to create them. A typical course file contains around 80-150GB of data.

Each lesson is based on an episode and contains several elements:

1. A lesson introduction with lesson objective and a description of the lesson elements
2. Learning content in (illustrated) text format
3. Several video segments based on the episodes for self-directed learning
4. Additional content (such as Khan Academy videos in Dari and Pashto for worked problems or PhETs)
5. An activity in text or HTML-5
6. A lesson summary with key learning points
7. A formative assessments. 

Note: The full set of educational materials on this platform will be completed and available by March 2026.
