Introductory statistics courses are consistently a roadblock to student success due to high DWF rates and significant equity gaps. This project addresses these issues with an innovative, scalable redesign of the introductory statistics course through the integration of ChatGPT Edu. The redesign will replace traditional, often disengaging, online lectures with custom GPTs that deliver an interactive and adaptive learning experience. This learner-driven approach is designed to increase cognitive engagement, promote AI literacy, and foster critical thinking. The project includes AI integrated lectures, course notes, AI assisted homework and weekly activities. By targeting a known bottleneck course and embedding AI literacy, this project supports CSU’s equity and graduation goals while preparing students for a data-driven world.
