Business English Self-Study Guide (A1-C2)

A free, no-registration path to better workplace English: find your level, work through lessons at that level, and practise with audio recordings and printable worksheets. Step 1 — Find your level

Before choosing any material, check where you actually are on the CEFR scale (A1 to C2). The free placement tests take a few minutes, need no registration, and give you a level you can use to pick the right lessons.

Step 2 — Work through lessons at your level

The open lesson library holds more than 130 interactive lessons graded A1 to C2. They cover grammar as well as the situations that actually come up at work: meetings, presentations, emails and phone calls. Every lesson has audio and a printable PDF worksheet — 256 worksheets in all, free to use in the classroom, with no advertising and no registration.

Step 3 — Train your ear on the go

Listening is usually the last skill to catch up. The weekly podcasts give you short episodes of natural business English that you can listen to on the commute, each tied to a CEFR level so you can match them to the lessons you are working through.

Step 4 — When you need a trainer
