Read the Advance for Occupational Therapy Practitioners that features Indergard v Georgia-Pacific. Pay particular attention to the discussion of the job analysis, the thoughts on each of the jurists about what constitutes an ADA Title 1 medical examination. In this case, the medical examination was a Functional Capacity Evaluation.
Note that the judges did not reinforce the idea of a typical FCE constituting a medical examination. That concept was solidified in Paul James v Goodyear Tire and Rubber.
