Animated introductions

This activity assumes a degree of computer literacy and is to be used as an icebreaker activity for students involved in a computer mediated language learning class. Join students into pairs, and as an ice breaker, have paired students survey each other. Survey questions could include: What is your name / nickname? What country / city are you from? How long have you been studying English? Why are you studying English? and so on. Once interview are conducted, each student creates an animated character that resembles the person they interviewed. Then the student has the animated character introduce the classmate. These animated characters are then shared during whole class presentations.
