Instructions: The Salem Witch Hysteria involved a large number of people. This assignment will focus on just a few. Read the biographies in full of the following people: Pastor Samuel Parris, Elizabeth Parris, Abigail Williams, Elizabeth Hubbard, Ann Putnam, Jr; Tituba, Sarah Osburn, Sarah Good, and William Good. Write a 5-7 page paper answering the following questions: 1. What caused the Salem witchcraft hysteria?; 2. Who were the accusers?; 3. Who were the accused?; 4. Who were the afflicted girls and what was their affliction(s)?; 5. Who were the officials involved in the trials; 6. Who was executed and on what grounds?; 7. Who died in jail and from what cause(s)?; 8. How many were released after being found innocent?; 9. What were the short-term and long-term consequences resulting from this hysteria? 10. Could something like this happen again?
