Early Colonies to America

The first permanent settlements here in America are a jumping-off point as to how our country was founded. They describe the reasoning behind the immigration to the Americas, which includes the pursuit of riches, freedom of religion, and the desire for a new life.  They also set a precedent of treaties and conflicts with the Native people that lived here and the imperialistic desires of England. The first settlers also created another step into further thing Colombian Exchange, which was the trade of culture, religion, ideas, and disease from the New and Old World. These sources provide a differentiated learning experience that allows learners of all educational backgrounds and abilities (EDI) to be able to learn about the early stages of America.  This includes videos, games, primary document sourcing, and reading reflections that give a picture of what life was like in early America.
