They [the brown berets] transitioned from being a movement for chicano rights to also protesting and raising awareness about anti-war movements. This topic is never taught in secondary school that by the time you reach college, even if you are interested you might feel like you are behind. The intent is to raise and teach awareness of other cultures and their contributions to the history that have shaped our modern world. Though the fights and wars are far from being over.

This will allow us to explore the material of how not only was the civil rights movement the only cause and action for change. After navigating through different time periods from the last century we will be able to compare and analyze how men, women, and lgtbq+ people each paved the path to the change we still fight for today.
