Japan and the West, from Opening to Colonizing
A collection intended for educators to use to better depict the various perspectives of Japanese and Western interactions of the late 19th into the 20th centuries. Using multiple cultural perspectives as well as various mediums of expression, students will be able to view the multifaceted and nuanced perspectives on Japan's opening and how this interaction with the West would influence its decisions to engage in imperialist ventures in the 20th century.
