The history of the abacus along with a virtual abacus that students may manipulate. Well-written. Most students know what an abacus is but have never used one; they find the virtual abacus to be quite interesting and can actually see place value in action.

This is an outstanding collection of materials related to the Fibonacci numbers including animations, puzzles, exercises and much more. My students are always delighted and amazed with the Fibonacci Numbers and Nature sections. The Fibonacci Puzzle page provides some interesting diversions.

This site is good to you as a base when you need help with any topic. It is a search engine that will bring up various site that contain information relating to the keywords you searched for. Google is probably the biggest site on the internet.

MathForum.org is a comprehensive forum that allows users to collaborate, assist and learn from people of various mathematical backgrounds and experience levels. Teachers, students and parents can all benefit, utilizing the tools and services this organization presents. The web site contains various sections, in a logical and easy to use format; this allows users to spend little time searching and more time learning. Mathforum.org also offers the ability to purchase materials that can be taken with users when access to the Internet isn’t possible. Some of the links that seems most helpful are Ask Dr. Math and Problems of the Week.

Anything that you would normal look up in an encyclopedia, you can look up on this site. It gives detailed descriptions and backgrounds of many different topics. The information offered can be used as a basis for any report.
