Bookmark Collection

This was literally the first website i came across for this assignment. the website looks a bit boring on the outside; another text wall with links. the information is excellent with relevant diagrams and links. while an Earth Science classroom will not delve as deep as this site goes, the information presented can be extremely useful for an alternative assessment project, or self guided research. i think Astronomy is a hit or miss topic for most students, the high quality photographs, and deep information could capitvate those students on the edge.

This is one of the coolest websites! i plan on doing a poster project on Geologic History where each group choses a time period and presents the information. a website like this is interdisciplanary for Earth Science and Biology. the sit allows the user to select a time period and view a paleogrographic reconstruction of the land mass layout during the time. from there they can view the habitats and features of the time? were there glaciers, mountains, forests. user can also see where fossils of a selects group are found and view the specimen with a high definition picture. the only downside to this site is the incompleteness of the fossil record. it is only a collection from the museum of Valdosta State University

Extremely simple animation of what causes a tsunami. a subduction zone is shown with arrows indicating direction of plate movement. the overriding plate is seen to snap up resulting in a large dispersion of the above water column. can serve as an introduction to Natural Disasters.

This is an interactive tool for showing the effects of Global Climate CHange. the user can choose to view sea level, sea ice coverage, CO2 emissions, and average global temperature over time.
