Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool
Rating:
Strengths:
The video provides a nice combination of the physical processes with knowledge of relevant documents, threats, and controls. The animations that show goods moving through the system are effective in a way that words alone are not; for example, showing duplicate orders arriving at the destination. The video presentation is excellent in that multiple learning modes are integrated (visual with color, animation and pictures, auditory with understandable narration, and the appropriate and selective inset of word balloons for learners to read the terms to fully understand). The word balloons serve throughout as a repetitive device of content that the viewer has just witnessed. Shipping concepts are relayed simply and effectively. For example, the succinct method the video used to show “restriction of access” was clever, simple, and memorable in a way that merely hearing the words would not achieve. Teachers and students could learn a lot in a short time.
Concerns:
None noted
