The presentation integrates materials and current models to explain accountants various roles that make use of big data. The inclusion of the various models permits for the communication of more information in a shorter period of time.
Beginning the conversation with the Pathways Vision Model to define accounting is excellent. Content is relevant and most timely to the discussion taking place in the field. Appropriately included is the life cycle of accounting information, real-world current applications, and terminology. An IBM graphic is used to explain how big data differs from data based on volume, velocity, variety, and veracity. The notion of dark data is introduced as well as the importance of external data sources to enhance forecasting.
Concerns:
Visuals are difficult to read unless enlarged full screen. They are rich with content, but it is very difficult to read despite being enlarged.

Showing the video in class is a great way to connect learning to the real world. The video indirectly emphasizes how services provided by the professional are continuously evolving and extend beyond the stereotypical view of an accountants role within an organization. Concepts are introduced and reinforced progressively. The integration of financial and non-financial information is very good. Many important points are raised that can provide for expanded discussion.

The presentation is easy to use and well done. The graphics used are of a professional quality. The video lecture provides a nice introduction to big data and its implications for the accounting profession. Concepts are woven together nicely. The good tonal quality of the presenters voice makes it seem like she is personally speaking to each viewer.
Concerns:
This video is not interactive, except for allowing the viewer to watch it multiple times, or to join the discussion by accessing the url provided at its end. Some of the visuals are a little blurred, even at full computer screen size. The verbal pace is rather fast to absorb everything being discussed. One needs to pause the video to have time to grasp all of the information packed into the IBM illustration used. Sometimes information appears on the screen for a long time without any features used to direct the viewers attention.
