Overview:: It is a website tackling different linguistic skills related to English language: grammar, listening, speaking, reading, and writing.It is dedicated tp learners of English as a second language, and also a good source of activities for ESL teachers / instructors.

Recommended Uses:: This site would best be used by instructor searching for in-class activities or searching for practice activities to assign their ESL students.
Technical Requirements:: While linked sites may require specialized browsers or plug-ins, this collection does not.
Identify Major Learning Goals:: Students using the linked sites will develop a deeper familiarity with English grammar, writing, culture, vocabulary, and reading.
Target Student Population:: The website can be utilized by teachers or learners with any cultural backgrounds without any reservations. There are no cultural obstacles that could impede the comprehensibility of the content.
Prerequisite Knowledge or Skills:: If the materials are used by learners, they should be at intermediate levels. Concerns:: last updated on 2 April 2012 so some links may not work anymoreUnfortunately, the materials are not displayed with reference to either the ACTFL(American Council of teaching Foreign Languages) Standards or CEFR Standards ( Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) . So if the learners or the teachers / instructors are searching for appropriate materials with targets of specific linguistic levels, they have to spend much time before they find the desirable materials. That is because the materials are not entitled to specific linguistic levels.

Strengths:: presents a wide variety of activities so that users can find materials appropriate for their knowledge levels and learning styles
Concerns:: The website is rather confusing. For instance, ' Reading' section displays very classic and pompous English related to the 19th century through some of the literary works. These materials are not genuinely utile for ESL learners, but maybe for English literature students whose English is a second language. Simultaneously, the other sections display materials belonging to intermediate and advanced level students. There are no instructions about how to ideally use the website, so that the confusion would not be aroused.the volume of materials makes this daunting for a student to sift through and will probably be more appropriate for instructors to find resources

Other Issues and Comments:: The material has not been recently updated; however, most links work well and direct users to appropriate resources which could be assigned to individual students.I believe that the content of this website could be categorized according to different linguistic levels while considering ACTFL Standards when the categorization is processed.
