Technical Requirements:
YouTube access
Identify Major Learning Goals:

Content Quality
Rating:
Strengths:
The video uses one single case to introduce the concept, starting from simple case of "greeting". It presented the case and go through the other UML diagrams one-by-one. While this is a single case, the key features of the activity diagram, the sequence diagram and the class diagram are presented in a matter that is easy to follow. The content is appropriate for the beginers and those who would like to see a case of application in daily life.
Concerns:
Lacks clear identification of context, presumes viewers know why they are choosing to view this
Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool
Rating:
Strengths:
The major advantage is that it uses a simple case to illustrate several types of diagrams in one go, so the viewers can effectively identify the related among them. Particularly for the new comers in UML, in this short but contentful video, viewers can get the concept in a very short time. It is helpful to get the overview on the hierarchical structure of UML diagrams.
Even though it would be even better to tell the viewers what are going to be presented in the beginning, the video is good enough for understanding the whole concept, achieving the learning goal.
Concerns:
One area that can be improved is the sequence diagram, in which more elaborations on the diagram shown should be provided.
Furthermore it would be better if it can fit into an external learning structure (i.e., not stand-alone).
Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty
Rating:
Strengths:
The video is clear and the text size and the pace of speech is good to follow. It is interesting to a simple daily case of "greeting customers" to help the viewers to learn.
Concerns:
May require viewing paid advertising prior to access.
