This app allows users to partition unit squares into different colored fractional pieces. The app helps user measure each fractional piece and display the sum of all fractional pieces. Users can manipulate the size and shape of each fractional piece by touching/dragging on the screen. Users can lock the fractional pieces in place and shift the grid lines. They can also lock the grid in place but shift the fractional pieces. The number of subdivisions of the unit square can be adjusted by dragging along a bar on the right and bottom sides of the screen.

The app store site from which this app can be downloaded includes a video demonstrating how to use the app to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions.  However, there is no verbal or written explanation of what is being shown. Therefore, if the app includes a voice-over explanation, that would be helpful to all users.

This is a great tool for helping students to visualize fractional pieces, and it is helpful for demonstrating addition and subtraction of fractions.

It does not appear to be a quick and easy way to clear the previously created fractions other than closing and reopening the app. This could become frustrating for users in an in-class demonstration or when working one-on-one with a student.

Creating the fractional pieces and changing colors is straightforward in this app. Being able to create fractional pieces of varying colors is visually appealing.

No directions are provided.  It would be helpful to provide  a set of written instructions or a description of the purpose of each button/tool in the app.
