Concerns:

Content is not supported by appropriate research and may be considered in some cases marketing material by PWC
Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool
Rating:
Strengths:
This site contains upcoming live webinars that offer CPE credit and address current accounting issues.
The site also contains podcasts, case studies, and research into current topics that straddle accounting and other business subdisciplines. Podcasts tend to be short, and webinars tend to be longer but are interactive if viewed live.
Webcasts would be easy to integrate into curriculum assignments, or for self-paced research for advanced students in business, accounting, or finance
Webcasts provide additional learning material such as presentation slides, white papers, and industry guides that students can download
Concerns:
No learning objectives or student assessment provided, as this material is not designed for an academic setting
The learning material does not reinforce concepts progressively, or build on prior concepts that would easily tie into the curriculum of an accounting or finance course
The webcasts cannot be used to measure student learning outcomes
Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty
Rating:
Strengths:
Webcasts are hosted on the PWC website, easily accessible with any web browser
Students will find the content engaging and be able to hear directly from industry professionals who work in a specialized industry
For live presentations, students would be able to ask questions and respond to online polls during the presentation, making it more interactive
Instructions are very clear and the site is professionally developed, curated, and managed.
Concerns:
Some presentations require Adobe Flash to be enabled, which prevents some videos to load if browser security settings block Flash content
Some archived webcasts listed on the site were no longer available, or the link had expired
Webcasts required students to register with an email, full name, organization name and sometimes a phone number
Instructors should be aware that these webcasts are designed by PWC for marketing and industry outreach, not necessarily educational purposes. Students should decide what information they want to share with PWC
Other Issues and Comments:
This is a commercial website, with advertising, provided by the public accounting firm PWC. Site is not designed or intended for formal academic use, which is fine as long as instructors and students are aware of these limitations.
