The subject matter of the tutorial is to help faculty or other professionals use open educational resources, plus align the resources to one’s teaching style. The tutorial consists of three modules. The user is introduced to LibreTexts, how to navigate the platform, and how to import the resources into Canvas. The second module instructs the user on how to edit the resources in LibreTexts. The third module provides instructions for how to remix content from several resources. Each model begins with an introduction page and the learning outcomes. The tutorial is easy to navigate and supplies written content along with visual aids such as pictures of step-by-step guidelines. Several links are provided for external resources within the content to provide additional examples.

Content Quality
Rating:
Strengths:
The tutorials are scaffolded and allows the learning to engage in the content at different levels of OER or LibreText experiences. Each module provides an introduction and the learning outcomes to be covered. Materials are supported by research with detailed citations and the opportunities to view external sources for greater depth of the content. The additional resources are helpful for users such as the webinars, presentation guides, and additional “how-to” resources.

No concerns identified.
Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool
Rating:
Strengths:
At the beginning of each module, the material provides for a brief statement of what the user should know already and where the module will take them as they proceed through the content.
This learning material is highly effective for student and faculty training/professional development. It can be seamlessly integrated into OER onboarding programs, institutional initiatives, and instructional design workshops. I would use this resource as a required training module for faculty adopting OER, supplemented by applied assignments such as remixing or authoring LibreTexts content.
Concerns:
While the course supports meaningful learning, institutions seeking formal assessment or certification may wish to add locally developed rubrics or checkpoints. This is a minor consideration and does not detract from overall effectiveness.
Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty
Rating:
Strengths:
The learning materials are very easy to use and navigate. The instructions are concise and clear with visual aids and webinars to access.
Concerns:
My recommendations for engaging and appealing to the learner would be to embed videos available to offer an additional resource for different learning styles. There is always the possibility of having users with different learning styles and generational differences on how users engage in technology and stay engaged.
Other Issues and Comments:
LibreTexts 101 and Beyond exemplifies high-quality open pedagogy and serves as a strong model for scalable student and faculty development in OER adoption. The course aligns well with equity-centered teaching practices and supports institutional goals related to affordability, access, and instructional innovation.
