This resource is a gross anatomy image bank of female genital system pathology, including gross photos, microscopic histology and cytology images. All or most of the images are annotated or contain some explanatory material.

This material is a single graphic which is a part of a very large collection of gross and microscopic human anatomy images.

The graphic clearly shows gross anatomy of the female reproductive
tract.

The ruler included in the graphic provides perspective relative to
the size of the organs.
The description along with the java-script arrows to specific
anatomical parts assist the learner to identify essential components
of the graphic.

Concerns:

Image resolution is good, but probably could be higher.

Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool

The purpose of the graphic is to show actual size, color and parts
of a normal female reproductive system.

The site is interactive in that it allows the learner to
understand where each of the components of anatomy are located.
This graphic is just one of "1900 images along with text,
tutorials, laboratory exercises, and examination items for
self-assessment that demonstrate gross and microscopic pathologic
findings associated with human disease conditions."

Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty

Rating:
Strengths:: The graphic has a simple but clean interface and is easy to use. There is a link that allows the viewer to go back to an index of all of the gross anatomy and microscopic images in this collection.

Other Issues and Comments:: Many images are relatively low resolution - now that broadband internet
connections are commonplace, it would be nice to have higher resolution on the photos.
