Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool
Rating:
Strengths:
The Field-tested Learning Assessment Guide (FLAG) site has the potential to assist higher education instructors by aligning assessment techniques with their course goals. This site is a very useful educational tool that could be beneficial in any higher education course.
Concerns:
This site is quite complete and complex with intermixed navigation that can be confusing. For learners with flexibility and persistence this site is excellent.
Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty
Rating:
Strengths:
The interactive tables are easy to use and produce a list of suggestive classroom assessment techniques. The assessment techniques are hyperlinked to definitions and explanations.
Concerns:
Has animations on the home page that are fun but not necessary and after awhile they are distracting. The next and previous arrows on some pages do not work. Please note that the authors are revising the FLAG home page and navigation and that these changes should be ready in July, 2001. They are also moving the site to a different server, so it will have a new URL. However, the old URL will point to the new one.
