Content Quality
Rating:
Strengths:
The apparently comprehensive list of entries goes all the way back to 1928 and is an excellent, much visited data base of the studies done. Research is well-covered, and summary quotations on the citations are well-chosen. A substantial resource on e-learning.
Concerns:
Selected results are quoted as an abstract from each of the studies. However <br/>there is no evaluative comment about the validity and reliability of the <br/>research.<br/>
Reproduced from the original print material, these citations are 'flat text' and do not provide hyperlinks to the original material, even where online and available.
Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool

Strengths:
This bibliographic listing is useful for anyone who wishes to use research-based data to support the effectiveness of online teaching and learning. Comprehensive, easy resource to navigate and explore.
Concerns:
Reproduced from the original print material, these citations are flat text and do not provide hyperlinks to the original material, even where online and available.
Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty
Rating:
Strengths:
Simple, well-designed site makes available material easy to find. Whether browsing, perusing by year, or using search function to access a needed source, all were easy to access. Search function has an especially rich set of categories to allow limits. The selected quotes from sources invite readers to pursue the full text of the article.
Concerns:
Although many of the sources are from electronic journals, none of them is hyperlinked from this site, making it difficult for the user to access the original article.
