Strengths:
The videos in this series are conveniently categorized by proficiency level such as beginning, intermediate, advanced, and superior. For example, the first basic activity has four different native speakers, male and female, describe typical classroom objects, not in a typical label and repeat mode, but in a natural free-flowing monolog. The user can see the speaker pick up the object as it is described. It is also possible to see the transcription in Portuguese or suppress it by clicking N on the screen. An English transcription is also available on demand by clicking E. There are fifteen basic videos, thirty intermediate, twenty-eight advanced, and at the time of review, eleven superior videos. The variety of topics is vast and complement most Portuguese language programs.
