This is a tutorial about Africa that covers the geography of the continent, the history of Europe-Africa relations, the politics of Africa, interesting facts, and finally some resources for more information on Africa. There are links to videos that cover these topics.The Africa Studies Tutorial is a lecture/presentation of various aspects of African history, geography and facts. It includes lectures, corresponding audio overviews, a description of courses at Boston University that are related to African Studies, scholarly resources, publications about Africa, a description of African languages, and an explanation of the BU African Studies Center. This site is appropriate for undergraduate students engaged in intercultural study, as well as for those individuals who are interested in learning more about the programs at BU. Through this tutorial students will gain a deeper appreciation for the historical role of Africa and learn some basic facts about its geography.

The Africa Studies Tutorial presents material in a fun, engaging manner, with a video "teaser" presented before each module. The tutorial covers several aspects of Africa, and also provides some tangential resources for individuals who wish to know where to study about Africa, and what courses are available. Pictorial presentations are provided to visually demonstrate the importance of key concepts.
Concerns:
Some of the links didn't work; for example, when I clicked on "how big is Africa in comparison to India" I was taken to a page on which the images didn't display - closing this window knocked me out of the tutorial altogether.The interactivity in the "how big is Africa" section did not appear to work properly.I could not get the history video to load. Also, the intro video on African politics did not load.

The Africa Studies Tutorial presents material for student use (in particular, the tutorial sections) in a fun, engaging manner. The interactive exercises in each section are engaging and fun, and are designed to stimulate critical thinking.
Concerns:
As mentioned previously, some of the interactive exercises did not work properly.

Concerns:
The current structure of content modules is rather limited; in the future, perhaps others could be added that discuss more indepth cultural considerations, especially for U.S. travelers and expatriates.
