Trends in Instructional Technology IDT-5030 - copy

This 6-week online course is exploration of games and simulations: the evaluation, design, and infusion of games and simulations in instructional settings. Students will create a process for using multimedia and visual basic applications for developing instructional materials, presentations, and games.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Identify the tools and practices of game development
  2. Develop a game concept; prototype, test, and iterate on your ideas; and navigate licensing, marketing, and other business considerations.
  3. Demonstrate methods and techniques of simulation and learn how it is applied in various fields.
  4. Apply the basic principles underlying the simulation in instructional design.
