Lexicology

Lexicology is the branch of linguistics that focuses on the study of words, including their structure, meaning, usage, and the relationships between words within a language. It examines how words are formed, their origins, how they are used in different contexts, and how their meanings evolve over time. Lexicology is closely related to lexicography, which involves compiling dictionaries and studying the relationships between lexical items.
