Justice Technology Information Network
This site contains information on everything related to law enforcement and technology, from biometrics and body armor to standards and testing. Originally created in 1994 as a component of the National Institute of Justice's (NIJ's) Office of Science and Technology, the National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center (NLECTC) system serves as an "honest broker" offering support, research findings, and technological expertise to help State and local law enforcement, corrections, and other criminal justice personnel perform their duties more safely and efficiently.
To better align the NLECTC system with NIJ's Research, Development, Testing, and Evaluation (RDT&E) activities. On September 20, 2007 NIJ announced the addition of four Technology Centers of Excellence (CoE) as part of the NLECTC system.
