What he is looking for: what are children doing on the Internet

The study showed that more than half of schoolchildren are looking for ready-made homework on the Internet. Those who are not engaged in "virtual cheating" are not, as a rule, interested in studying at all: they use the networks to search for movies, music and romance.

Analysts have found that 50 percent of students search the Internet every day during the school year for ready-made homework, often on an essay writing help, or trying to figure out how to solve a problem, how to answer questions.

In general, the search for ready-made homework is 3.5% of all traffic. After analysing the search queries of students and their parents during the school year and during the summer holidays, the experts concluded that, although finding ready-made homework on the looks like a hoax, in fact these children tend to learn well and most motivated. Because the other half of students who do not look for answers to questions are not interested in educational resources at all, at least on the Internet.

“We compared the queries asked by students interested in homework and those asked by those who are not. It turned out the following: those who are not looking for a ready-made homework, are interested in romance, cinema, sports ... And for those people who are looking for homework, it is important that they have the right answer; yes, let them cheat to some extent, but it is important for them to check their result "

The expert is sure that those who are looking for answers to their homework on the Internet are "good students in terms of motivation."

Schoolchildren mainly use social networks to communicate with friends - 82% of adolescents do this. Also, on the Internet, teenagers listen to music (85%) and look for interesting information (59%). At the same time, only a third of respondents use social networks for educational purposes, and only 16% watch educational videos. About the same number of people spend their leisure time "having fun with trolling." It is interesting that computer games, which so frighten adults, apparently have lost their popularity among the current generation - only half of teenagers use the network to play.
