Skills & Interests

  • Humanities/Religious Studies (Advanced)
My main interest is Biblical Interpretation and Biblical Theology. I teach courses at the University of Albany in basic and intermediate Biblical Interpretation. I have taught the basic course on-line and am now teaching the intermediate course on-line, using academic Web resources in Biblical Studies. I have published two books on Biblical Interpretation: one entitled "Basic Biblical Interpretation: A Method and Survey." Go To: I use that book in my basic course. It has been well received by students. And I have published a follow up to that book entitled: "Companion Essays in Biblical Interpretation." Go To: On those web pages you will find a description of each book and a sample chapter as well as a biographical note on my religious background. I am a commissioned Lay Minister in the Reformed Church in America. I preach frequently in Reformed Churches in the Albany, NY, area; and I have published articles in the Reformed Church journal, The Church Herald.
