- Teaching recent postpartum mothers about how to care for themselves for the next 6 wks to avoid infections, hemorrhaging, and complications, etc. Newborn care also taught like feedings cues, how often they should urinate/defecate, reporting signs of infections like a temp. less than 97.6 or more than 100.0, proper sleeping placement in crib, etc.
