Grade Level: Kindergarten

Lesson Title: Sunspot Flip Book

Objectives: 1. Student will make observations and create a flip book.
2. Students will collaborate and respond to images.
3. Students will effectively navigate the Internet.

CDE Science: Investigation and Experimentation 4c. Describe the relative
position of objects by using one reference (e.g., above or below). 4e.
Communicate observations orally and through drawings.

CDE Language Arts: Written and Oral English Language Conventions 1.1:
Recognize and use complete, coherent sentences when speaking. Comprehension 1.1:
Understand and follow one-and two-step oral directions. 1.2: Share information
and ideas, speaking audibly in complete, coherent sentences.

NETS: #5: Work cooperatively and collaboratively with peers, family members,
and others when using technology in the classroom.

Anticipatory Set: Students will visit

the template for the flip books. 3. Facilitate the usage of the Internet. 4.
Assess as needed to drive instruction.

Critical Student Tasks: 1. Observe the Internet images. 2. Collaborate with
peers. 3. Write down and illustrate your observations. 4. Create the flip
books. 5. Share observations with peers. 6. Revise former ideas of concepts
and observations as needed.

Assessment: Informal as according to the oral language conventions. Formal as
according to the Effort/Achievement Rubric (check the flip books).
