Exercise
Lesson Title: Discovering Hurricanes
Objectives: 1. Students will draw their observations.
2. Students will type rough drafts with Word.
3. Students will organize thoughts into paragraphs.
CDE Science: Investigation and Experimentation 4. Scientific progress is made
by asking meaningful questions and conducting careful investigations. As a basis
for understanding this concept and addressing the content in the other three
strands, students should develop their own questions and perform investigations.
4a: Draw pictures that portray some features of the thing being described. 4b:

CDE Language Arts: 1.0 Writing Strategies: Students write clear and coherent
sentences and paragraphs that develop a central idea. Their writing shows they

use of the Internet. 5. Employ the use of graphic organizers. 6. Teach the tech
side (Word).
Critical Student Tasks: 1. Vigorously question the instructor. 2. Use the
Internet in a responsible manner. 3. Write down observations in science journal.
4. Work collaboratively with peers. 5. Create and share drawings. 6. Create
Word Document.
