What happens when the way we buy, sell and pay for things changes, perhaps even removing the need for banks or currency exchange bureaus? That's the radical promise of a world powered by cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. We're not there yet, but in this sparky talk, digital currency researcher Neha Narula describes the collective fiction of money -- and paints a picture of a very different looking future.

Rating:
Strengths:
The presentation provides a learning opportunity for students concerning money, financial institutions, fintech, and cryptocurrency. It promotes a conceptual understanding and offers several descriptions and examples to promote this understanding.
Concerns:
No learning objectives or goals or provided. At the beginning of the talk, I thought it was about the evolution of money and financial institutions as we mainly use them today. It was not until about half-way through the talk that I realized it was about the use of cryptocurrency and how that could potentially change the way we bank and make payments. A clear introduction of the full topic would have been helpful.
