This is a video hosted by the British Council that focuses on the use of gerund versus infinitive. The video is an animation of teenagers discussing traveling to Italy and eating Italian food. As they speak, the dialogue is written below with the verbs plus the infinitive or gerund forms highlighted in a different color. As students listen, they can think to themselves about what patterns they see regarding the verb and infinitive or gerund combinations. Once students complete the video, they can scroll to read rules which correspond to the patterns they heard and read in the video. After taking a rest, different groups of questions allow the students to practice what they learned. This is a good activity for teachers to assign students at home. The students can then come into class and work more on this concept. My only concern is with the first activity they complete after watching the video and reviewing the rules. It takes a few tries to learn how to drag and drop the different choices into the correct box. This might turn off students with less patience for figuring out technology.
