Trade or advertising card scrapbook of 194 pages, visionary art compiled by Emma Jane (Bailey) Arnold for her son Earl J. Arnold (b.1884) and his siblings in the late 19th century. Commentary and presentation by Earl J. Arnold's grandson, Jeffrey Arnold Diver, identifies the businesses, discusses advertising techniques, elaborates on social conditions of the time, visits sites of former businesses and thus brings to life the Victorian era in America. Excellent primary source material for teaching womens studies, negative stereotyping, Africana studies, advertising and printing techniques.
