This is a great resource for this upcoming (2016) presidential election. It includes a lengthy quiz on a variety of issues on social issues (topics like abortion), environmental issues, economic issues, domestic policy issues, healthcare issues, among others. Those taking the quiz have multiple choices where they select their views and even rate the importance of the issue. Following completion of the quiz, you are given terrific data on which of the candidates your views most align with, as well as a report on where you political views place you both in terms of left or right leaning or authoritarian vs. libertarian principles. Additionally you are given data on how your responses coincide with various political themes such as collectivism vs individualism, small government vs big government etc. 

Prior to having students complete this in class on their smart phones or laptops, I had students write down what party they identify with and which candidate they would likely vote for in the upcoming election.

After reviewing their results, I had students write a mini-reflection paper on if they were surprised about their results and how their ideology and results on the political themes section fit with their initial impressions.
