Years ago, it was normal for C to be one of the first programming languages people learned. However, things have changed, and now it is common for students to start learning how to program in languages such as Python or Java. This material, called The Descent to C, provides a preparation for that audience to learn C. It is not a self contained introduction to the language, rather it points out the main differences from languages like Python and Java to C, and what to expect, and to understand, in order to then delve into traditional C learning materials.
