THE "MOHR-COULOMB" ERROR

Coulomb’s Essay on limiting statics stated that newly remoulded soil has no cohesion. Critical state soil mechanics agrees with this principle, here called Coulomb’s law. The Mohr-Coulomb equation wrongly interpreted strength data. The two components of peak strength really are friction and interlocking.
