This article, created by Bruce J. McLaren and Constance H. McLaren from Indiana State University, describes a dataset containing monthly household electric billing charges for ten years. The data can be used to illustrate graphing, descriptive statistics, correlation, seasonal decomposition, a variety of smoothing methods, ARIMA models, forecasting, and multiple regression. Additionally, the authors have created seven different assignments testing students knowledge of these subjects. This is a great lesson in applied statistics.
