Teaching by Choice: Addressing the National Teaching Shortage
With support from the National Science Foundation (NSF), AACC, in partnership with the National Association of Community College Teacher Education Programs (NACCTEP) and the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC), developed Teaching by Choice (TBC): Addressing the National Teacher Shortage. TBC is a three-part initiative focusing on the increasing demand for K-12 teachers and community college faculty in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). This page presents works that have come out of the three conferences, including recommendations and promising practices for the recruitment, retention, and ongoing development of exemplary K-12 and community colllege math and science teachers.
