Remedial Education at Higher Education Institutions in Fall 1995
The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) is the primary federal entity for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data related to education in the United States and other nations. This survey was requested by the Planning and Evaluation Service of the Office of the Under Secretary within the U.S. Department of Education. The survey provides national estimates about the extent of remedial education on college campuses by examining: participation in college-level remedial education, characteristics of remedial courses and programs, and policies or laws that affect remedial education. For a quick look, readers should begin with the "Highlights" section at the beginning of the survey, here they can find a complete (yet short) overview of the survey's findings. Of course, if they are interested in more details they can read the survey in its entirety.
