Materials Joining Technology Technical Competency Profile (TCP)
Presented by Weld-Ed, the National Center for Welding Education and Training, this Technical Competency Profile (TCP) was created for an elective course as part of a materials joining curriculum and includes "what student skills / outcomes are expected at the completion of the course." In addition to introductory information, the TCP covers to following content areas: arc welding and non-arc welding processes, the physics of welding, heat flow, metallurgical background, welding metallurgy, design, testing and inspection, and safety. It is a helpful document to guide the creation or modification of any introductory welding or materials joining classroom.
