The Materials Education Resource Center has provided this metals processing lab in order to demonstrate iron oxidation to students in technology and chemistry fields of study. The experiment uses quickens the pace of natural oxidation using iron and salt in order to help students understand the process of a chemical reaction. This pdf offers a list of equipment, curriculum overview and instructor notes, a step-by-step procedure, outside references, and an evaluation packet for students upon completion of the lab.
