This open textbook is being utilized in a first-year general chemistry course for undergraduate engineering students by Frank Yip, Ph.D., at CSU-Maritime Academy. The open textbook provides a standard array of content for many topics in a two-semester traditional survey of general chemistry. The main motivation to adopt an open textbook was to reduce costs for students. Most students access the open textbook in electronic PDF content downloadable from the publisher and provided on our Learning Management Software course web page.
